Got questions?

Everything people ask about Sammy, answered clearly.

Yes. Sammy is an AI agent built as a personal assistant. It does more than answer questions: it remembers your context, keeps track of things for you, brings them back at the right moment, and can take helpful actions with your permission. The goal isn't to be the cleverest chatbot, it's to be genuinely useful across your whole day.

A chatbot is a large language model: it takes your message and returns the most likely response based on everything it was trained on. An AI agent uses the same kind of model, but does two things differently. It enriches your message with extra context and memory, and it gives the model tools so it can take real actions, not just reply with text.

ChatGPT and Claude are remarkable when you want to ask a question. Sammy is built for the rest of your day. It remembers what matters to you, helps proactively instead of only when asked, works with your calendar and email (with your permission), can be talked to by voice, and can run privately on your phone. Similar underlying intelligence, a very different job.

The things that help Sammy help you: your preferences, the people in your life, and the ongoing threads you're working through, so you don't start from zero every conversation. Delete a chat along with what Sammy learned from it, or turn off a chat's Visibility to keep it out of Sammy's memory and your other chats (to-dos you add there still show in your list). Memory is stored on your device.

No. Sammy can suggest, draft, and prepare, but anything that leaves your hands, like sending a message, waits for your okay. You stay in control. Connections to things like your calendar and email are only ever made with your permission, and Sammy only uses them where they make it more useful to you.

Yes. There are no settings to configure or prompt tricks to learn. Open the app, ask in plain English, and go. Sammy is capable enough for people who already use AI every day, and easy enough for people who've never touched it.

No, the opposite. There are no feeds, streaks, or attention traps, and Sammy isn't trying to keep you scrolling. It's built to help you handle what you need, then put your phone down. It's also designed to support and sharpen your own thinking rather than replace it, so you stay capable and in control, with more of your attention left for your actual life.

A mix of models, each chosen for the job. Depending on your tier and what you select, Sammy can run an on-device model on your phone (Google's open-source Gemma) or use Sammy Cloud for faster, more capable help. For complex topics on Premium, Sammy can call in a specialist running on Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5.5, which thinks the problem through before it answers. Claude also builds Premium's Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and image generation uses FLUX.2 image models from Black Forest Labs, run by DeepInfra. You're always in control of which one is used.

Sammy Cloud is the extra horsepower for tasks a phone-sized model can't handle on its own. It runs on a decentralised GPU network rather than a single big-tech data centre, so there's no central warehouse of conversations to leak, sell, or hack. Sammy doesn't keep your cloud conversations on its servers, Sammy Cloud gets only what it needs to answer, and nothing you send is sold. The AI providers behind it keep data only where their own terms require, such as short-lived error logs; the App Privacy Policy has the details. Every plan's Sammy Cloud allowance refills every 5 hours and every week, and Core and Premium come with much bigger ones.

Yes, for a lot of things. Sammy can run an AI model directly on iPhones with about 8 GB of memory or more (a one-time download of about 6 GB), so it still answers with no signal, on a plane, or in a dead spot. A phone isn't a data centre, so the on-device model is smaller and a little less powerful than the cloud ones, but it's completely private and always available. It also improves over time, since every release ships the latest version. Cloud and specialist features need a connection.

Privacy is the foundation, because Sammy holds real context about your life. Conversations live on your phone by default, not our servers. Before anything first goes to Sammy Cloud, Sammy explains what's sent and who processes it, and asks for your okay; you can switch Sammy Cloud sharing off again any time in Settings. Sammy Cloud gets only what's needed to answer you, our AI providers' terms only let them use it for that, and Sammy doesn't keep cloud conversations on its servers. Sammy can run entirely on-device whenever you choose, and we don't sell your data. You decide what Sammy learns from: turn off a chat's Visibility to keep it out of Sammy's memory and your other chats, or delete a chat along with what Sammy learned from it.

No. Your conversations aren't used to train AI models, ours or our providers', and we don't sell your data or use it for advertising. Our AI providers get only what's needed to answer you, and their terms only let them use it for that. They're yours.

We build with human control, transparency, privacy, and accountability in mind from the start. You're always told which model is handling a task, you stay in control of actions and your data, and we're tracking emerging Australian AI standards and EU AI Act-style expectations, without pretending compliance theatre is the product.

Sammy starts free: limited Sammy Cloud usage, plus the on-device model on supported iPhones, voice notes, to-dos, shopping lists, recipes and more on your phone at no cost. Core gives you a much bigger Sammy Cloud allowance for faster, more capable everyday help, with voice chat, the Daily Briefing, Keeping Tabs and meal planning with Sammy. Premium adds the full experience, including specialists, real Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and Appointment Mode +. Plans are simple monthly subscriptions in your local currency, and you can cancel anytime.

A mode for the appointments that matter: a doctor's visit, a lawyer, a big meeting. Sammy records with everyone's knowledge, keeps a live agenda you tick off as it's covered, and keeps recording with your screen locked, for up to two hours. Afterwards it gives you the transcript and a plain-English summary, so you can be present in the room instead of taking notes. Appointment Mode + on Premium adds live insights and speaker separation.

Yes. When Sammy searches the web, small numbers in the reply point to a References list at the foot of the message, like a proper article, so you can see which page backs each fact and open it in a tap. Web search is part of Core and Premium, and the free plan includes limited web search.

Yes, for the quick things. Say “Hey Siri, talk to Sammy” to start a voice chat, “Hey Siri, tell Sammy” to pass on a message, or “Hey Siri, what's on today in Sammy” to hear your next event, the to-dos due today and the weather. On iPhones with an Action button, you can set it to Talk to Sammy. The Now widget puts the same day at a glance on your home screen or lock screen. Voice chat, and replies to Siri messages by notification, come with Core and Premium; on the free plan, a message you tell Sammy waits in the app for your next visit.

Yes. Sammy keeps your recipes, your pantry and a plan for the week. Save a recipe from any website with the Share button, or add your own, and mark how each one went so the good ones come round again. On Core and Premium, ask “what should we cook this week?” and Sammy plans around your household's tastes, diets and allergies, skips what you've had lately, uses up what's in the pantry, and puts the ingredients on the shopping list in aisle order. The recipes, pantry and plan themselves are free on every plan.

Yes. Sammy runs on iPad with a layout made for the bigger screen, and comes with an Apple Watch app. On the watch you can leave a voice note from your wrist on any plan, and on Core and Premium talk it through with voice chat, even with your iPhone in your pocket. Reminders and check-ins reach the watch too, with buttons to tick things off right there.

Turn on backup and Sammy saves an encrypted copy of your chats, memories, to-dos, lists, recipes and settings to iCloud each night, and you can back up to Google Drive as well. The key lives in your iCloud Keychain, so only your own devices can open it. On a new iPhone or iPad, sign in to the same Apple Account and restore from Settings, or straight from the welcome screen.

Sammy gets more capable with every release, with new skills and integrations arriving over time, and nothing to relearn. Sammy is already on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with Android planned for 2027. Looking further ahead, the aim is for Sammy to be there wherever you are, as a personal assistant that genuinely knows you and works in your interests, not for ad revenue.

Sammy works on iPhone and iPad today, with an Apple Watch app included. Android is planned for 2027.
